I like and appreciate what is said about the balance issues with Hilde as well as the possible changes for Tira and Ivy (Ivy is my favorite character).
However, my biggest trouble is with the « story » or single player mode. I would like to see the branching quest type of play as seen in SoulCalibur II. The Tower in SC4 took too much advantage of the imbalance problems and was too difficult and frustrating for casual players.
Lastly, if currency is going to be awarded in game as it has in the past, perhaps add some support after release for players who have « purchased » all in-game goods with their currency by providing new, downloadable items so the currency maintains value for further replay experiences.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to SC5 as well as SC100!
Great job with the interview! It was quite interesting and insightful.
It was also great to see some of the gameplay of the returning characters that we hadn’t seen before.
It’s good to hear that they are trying make this installment more accessible to new players but I am a little worried that they might dumb it down a little too much. Hopefully it will still be a deep game with plenty of learning curve and still be accessible to newbies too.
Seeing this new footage and new info has got me pumped up for Soul Calibur 5.
Can’t wait to get my hands on it. 😀
Thanks a bunch and keep up the good work! : )

hello nice job with the interview , but i want to fix one thing
tira doens’t lose life in gloomy stance, i play with her and i never have that, yes she lost life for passing to gloomy stance and the jolly stance because she hit her head with his weapons to change stance
but not on the stance gloomy i think and so by the possibility of doing her hitting his head, so you cannot say, the stance is random because we have the possibility to change, yes it less randomless but not so bad
and this small randomness making tira , tira without that she dont have two personnalities anymore, because people who have two personnalities cant change the personnalities like what and when they want, she can control just a little
that’s i think may be i have dont understand very well and i speak on a different things than you, i just want to say that to make sure it’s correct, it’s not a critic ^^
well good job and great interviews , thanks to you i cant wait for this soul calibur 5 ^^ and the others characters revealed ^^

Mathew : So do I. I really would like they make a very good story mode. If I’ll meet them again, i’ll try to ask questions about it. 🙂 Or I’ll try on twitter.
AJV : I’m sure it will be a deeper game than all SC. 🙂 I’m glad to hear you’re waiting for the game so much. 🙂
Elric : Tira does lose life in Gloomy stance, but not for all moves, just a few…like 66B.
Look at this video, at 1min32, look at her life, she’s losing life.
I REALLY HOPE THAT CREATION MODE IS MUCH MORE BATTER AND HAS MUCH MORE DETAIL MAKING A CUSTOM CHARACTER. I ALSO HOPE TO SEE SETSUKA BACK AND AS WELL AS THE RETURN OF A STORY MODE LIKE WE SAW IN SOUL CALIBUR 2 AND 3. 4 WAS A LET DOWN

Wow! That was a great interview. I’m glad to hear they’re going to fix Ivy’s character. Moreover, I really hope they improve the story mode as in « Soul Calibur III », as well as improving the fighting mechanics of the game as in « Soul Calibur II. » I’m really looking forward to « Soul Calibur V » and hope that with new characters will see new Martial Arts demos.
Thanks for the awesome interview.
