MAJ : Il y avait bien un cash price pour l'EVO, je gagne 500$, il devait y avoir + de 50 participantes. Contrairement à ce qu'on peut lire dans les forums qui ont des fausses infos.

Up : So there was cash price for women tournament, i won 500$. It must have been more than 500 women players. So what we can find in the forums saying there was no price is false.

C'était tout simplement incroyable !
Seule représentante de la France Métropolitaine, je savais pas du tout ce que ça aurait donné là-bas sans mes amis joueurs d'ici pour me soutenir et me conseiller sur place.
Heureusement tout de même, il y avait les guyanais pour me soutenir et je les remercie pour avoir crier autant lors de mes matchs !

It was simply unbelievable !

As only Metropolitan French representative, I truly didn’t know how things would have turned out without my player friends supporting and advising me. Luckily though, the Guyanese players were there for support and I thank them for yelling so loud during my matches!

EVO DAY 1

Au tournoi mixte, j'étais dans la poule K avec Laugh le coréen.
Les poules sont très épuisantes, faut attendre une heure entre chaque match. On est environ 60 par poule et c'est en arbre à double élimination. Les deux premiers passent (l'un de la winner bracket et l'autre de looser bracket), en gros chaque poule est un tournoi et les deux finalistes de chaque poule ont l'honneur de jouer sur grand écran le lendemain.
J'étais dans les poules de l'après-midi, j'ai commencé à 17h et ça s'est terminé à minuit lol…les poules du matin commençaient quant à elles à 9h.J'ai bien pris mon temps pour ne pas être trop fatiguée, j'ai du me lever vers 14h…

En arrivant j'ai rencontré Lud, un très bon joueur de Chun Li qui parle un peu français. J'avais vu ses matchs grâce à C nul avant de partir à l'EVO, une chun dont je m'inspire !
Il y avait beaucoup de Fuerte, Rufus, Blanka dans ma poule…des persos qu'on voit jamais en France lol !
J'ai gagné deux matchs en winner bracket, mon premier adversaire jouait T Hawk, merci à Ken Bogard de m'avoir fait connaître un peu mieux ce perso lors de la Japan Expo lol. Ensuite contre un Balrog, j'ai toujours du mal contre ce perso mais ça va un peu mieux lol.
Puis j'ai joué sur grand écran contre un Bison et j'ai perdu…j'ai horreur de ce perso -_-
Ensuite en looser bracket je tombe contre un Sagat que je bats au dernier round. C'était quand meme chaud ! Puis je joue sur grand écran contre un Ryu. Dont on peut voir le dernier match ici, filmé par un spectateur.

The pools are very tiring as you must wait for about an hour between every game. We are 60 players per pool, with a double-elimination tree. The first two pass ( one from the winner bracket and one from the loser bracket), roughly each pool is a tournament and the two finalists from each pool have the chance to play on the large screen the following day.
I was in the afternoon pools, I began at 5pm and it ended at midnight lol…The morning pools started at 9am. I took all my time not to be tired and woke up around 2pm… When I arrived I met with Lud, a very good Chun Li player that speaks a little French. I had seen his matches thanks to C_nul (a French chun player) before taking off for EVO, It’s a Chun li that I inspire from. There were a lot of Fuerte, Rufus and Blanka in my pool.. Characters we never see in France lol!
I won two matches in winner bracket; my first challenger played T Hawk, thanks to Ken Bogard I’d learned a little about him during the Japan expo lol. I then played vs a Balrog, I still have trouble against that character but it’s getting better now lol. Then I played on the stage against a Bison and lost… —I hate Bison -_-

In looser bracket I played against a Sagat that I managed to beat at the last round. It was really close! Then I played vs a Ryu on big screen. You can watch the match from here, filmed by one of the spectators:

Après ça j'ai encore perdu contre un Bison, ça s'est joué au dernier round je suis dégoûtée 🙁 Je sentais que je pouvais aller loin dans ma poule !

Je réussissais bien mes links au tournoi mixte, mais moins lors de la finale Women SSFIV. Je pense que c’est l’excitation de jouer une finale à l’EVO qui m’a rendue beaucoup moins posée sur mon exécution…chose à progresser ! 🙂

I managed my links pretty well at the mixed tournament, a lot better than during the SSFIV Women final. I figured it was the excitement of playing a final at EVO that led me to be less cold-headed in the executions of my moves… something to improve! 🙂

EVO DAY 2

Tout n'est pas terminé pour moi, j'ai encore le tournoi féminin et ce pourquoi je suis venue principalement !
Le tournoi féminin était composée de 50joueuses je crois bien.Il y avait la copine de Justin Wong, Cristina la joueuse anglaise, Sherry la favorite américaine, et d'autres joueuses venues de partout. Il a commencé à 9h et s'est terminé à 13h avec 4 bornes pour le tournoi, toujours en arbre double élimination.

All is not over for me, I still have the female tournament which is what I came for to begin with!
I think there were approximately 50 players. There was Justin Wongs girlfriend, Cristina the English player, Sherry the American favourite player, and many others from all over the place. The tournament started at 9am and was over at 1pm with 4 PS3 for the tournament, also with a double-elimination tree.

J'enchaîne mes matchs sans difficulté jusqu'à la demi-finale où j'affronte Lexy, une Chun-Li. Son niveau m'a surprise, elle est très intelligente ça se voyait direct dans sa façon de jouer.
Dommage qu'elle n'ait pu aller plus loin, elle a perdu ensuite contre la Blanka qui a terminé 4ème. Je pense qu'elle ne connaissait pas ce match up, en même temps pas grand monde connaît lol.

I chain my match without difficulties until the ½ finals where I fight Lexy, a Chun-Li. Her level has surprised me, she’s very smart, it was obvious in the way she played. Too bad she couldn’t go further, then she lost vs the Blanka's player Lina Yu who finished 4^th. I think she didn’t know this matchup, I don’t think many people know that one lol.

J'ai regardé tous les matchs jusque la fin pour voir contre qui je pourrais bien jouer, le truc c'est que j'ai vu aucun match de la finaliste BurnYourBra lol !

J'ai profité de cette aprèm de libre pour m'entraîner avec Eduardo (le joueur porto ricain considéré comme étant le meilleur Balrog du monde et je comprends en le voyant jouer…) et d'autres joueurs. Je me suis entraînée contre Blanka, Ken et Chun-Li puisque ce sont les persos de mes adversaires.

Comme ma finale était à 16h, j'en ai profité pour aller dans la chambre des money matchs assez tard le soir et affronter Daigo.
Lorsqu'il arrive et que je le salue, il a cligné des yeux plusieurs fois puis a dit « Oh, France ? Kayane ? » haha c'était drôle, je pense qu'il ne s'attendait vraiment pas à me voir ici !
J'avais demandé à la traductrice qui l'accompagnait si je pouvais jouer contre lui gratuitement. Elle m'a répondue « Heuu…je sais pas trop, je sais pas s'il acceptera si c'est sans argent je garantie rien… » et elle avait tiré une de ces tetes lol je me suis dis « elle a du me prendre pour une grosse radine ! » lol Elle a demandé à Daigo et il a accepté. Mais après réflexion, je me suis dis que demander ça comme ça était peut-être très déplacé (les différences culturelles vous savez…) et que si je veux qu'il joue à son max je ferais mieux de money match.
Donc après j'ai sorti mes 40 dollars
Mais bon déjà, pour un FT5 contre lui c'était 100$, je me plains pas !

I watched all the matches until the end to see who I was going to meet later, but I haven’t seen any match of the future finalist BurYourBra lol!I took advantage of the free afternoon to train with Eduardo (the Puerto Rican player considered as the best Balrog in the world, and I understand why now that I’ve seen him play…) and other players. I have trained against Blanka, Ken and Chun-Li because they are the characters of my competitors.As the Finals were in the afternoon at 4pm, I decided to go to the money match room quite late in the evening to challenge Daigo.
When he arrives and I say hello, he blinked a few times and said: “Oh, France? Kayane? ” Haha, that was funny, I think he really wasn’t expecting me to be there! I had asked the translator that was beside him if I could play against him for free. She answered: “hmm, I don’t know, I’m not sure he’ll agree if there is no money I don’t assure you of anything…” and she pulled out such a face lol, I figured I appeared stingy! lol She asked him and he’s accepted. But after a little thought I realized it may have been inconvenient (cultural differences…) and if I wanted him to play his best then I’d rather money match.

So I took out 40$! J But for a FT5 against him it was 100$, so I don’t complain!

J'aime beaucoup jouer contre lui car il me fait réaliser beaucoup de mes erreurs, j'espère que la prochaine fois je serais moins ridicule face à lui !

EVO FINAL DAY 3

J'y suis allée dans le but de gagner le tournoi féminin, c'était le jour où tout allait se décider et je pouvais pas imaginer retourner en France sans la coupe !
Je me suis conditionnée toute la matinée pour gagner lol je parlais plus, j'écoutais de la musique à fond et puis je pensais qu'à la victoire et à la façon dont je gérerais le Ken de mon adversaire.
Lorsque j'ai vu le monde qu'il y avait je ne me suis pas laissée intimidée car je savais

déjà à quoi m'attendre, bien qu'il y avait encore plus de monde que l'an dernier !

I went there with the goal of winning that cup, it was the day where all would be decided and I couldn’t imagine going back home without it!
I put myself in condition to win all morning long lol I didn’t talk anymore, I listened to music as loud as I could and thought only about victory and the way I would deal my opponent Ken.
When I saw the crowd I was not intimidated because I expected that, even though there was even more spectators than last year!

C'est le moment de jouer, je discute un peu avec mon adversaire. BurnYourBra, la finaliste est une femme très sympathique et adorable. Son « jm'en foutisme » était tout aussi admirable qu'inquiétant, au moins je n'avais pas à faire à une finaliste qui tremble à cause de la pression !

Time to play, after a little chat with my opponent. BurnYourBra, the finalist, is very friendly. Her “I don’t care” attitude was admirable and scary at the same time, but at least I wasn’t playing vs a player shaking because of pressure!

Au premier match elle prend Ken comme prévu, je gagne sans difficulté en zonant au maximum. Puis elle prend Gouken…
J'ai été énormément surprise lol ! Je ne m'y attendais absolument pas. Gouken, qu'est-ce que je sais de Gouken …? Je sais juste qu'il fait des hadokens lol ! Donc j'ai pris U1 au cas où elle m'en spam…la finale winner était chaude, j'ai du avoir le souffle coupé plusieurs fois lol c'est très dur de s'adapter à un match up qu'on connaît pas, de jouer devant autant de gens, et en si peu de matchs.

Oh et, s’il vous plait, me parlez pas de l’ultra piffé à la relevée lol j’en ferais des cauchemars !!!!!! C’était déjà cauchemardesque lorsque ça m’est tombée dessus lol ça m’avait fait un énorme choc mental et j’en avais tellement mal au

coeur de voir ma Chun se manger ça ohlala !!! Quand on est dans le feu de l’action, on oublie parfois certaintes règles d’or….là j’étais irritée de ne pas avoir fait le EX Legs après l’anti air, ce qui l’aurait tué. Alors j’ai voulu la terminer aussitôt et bam dans la gueule sur mon 2MK. Et j’avais pas fait attention au temps…J’ai juste déconné, mais au moins ça m’arrivera plus jamais !!!!!!J’ai toujours un peu de mal à m’y faire à ce système de jeu, c’est si différent de Soul Calibur !
Ouf au moins j’aurais pas à être en looser bracket, je suis donc en grande finale et BurnYourBra revient sans difficulté en terminant son adversaire très rapidement.

Oh and please don’t talk to me about that Gouken Ultra at the end of round lol, I’d make nightmares out of it!!! It was already a nightmare when it fell on me lol, it was a big mental shock for me and I really felt bad for my Chun to eat that Whoaa!!! When you’re into the action, you sometimes forget some of the golden rules…I was pretty pissed not to have done the EX Legs after the anti air which would have killed her. So I wanted to finish her asap and wham in the face on my 2MK. And I had not paid attention to the clock… I just screwed up, but at least that won’t ever happen to me again!!!!!! I still have trouble adapting to this game system, it’s so different from Soul Calibur!
Pfiuu at least I won’t have to be in loser bracket, so I’m in grand finals and BurnYourBra comes back without difficulty by finishing her opponent very quickly.

Pour ceux qui se demandent ce qu'elle m'a chuchotée à l'oreille entre deux matchs, c'était après la Super que j'ai placé en punition contre son Soul Spiral, elle m'a tout simplement dit : « You have really good reactions ! » Pouvoir dire ça lors d'une finale est une grande preuve de fair-play. 🙂
Ensuite elle reprend Ken, là j'étais contente lol ! Lorsqu'elle l'a pris, j'étais sûre de gagner à condition de gérer au max en zoning.

Et enfin victoire 2-0 !!!!! Très fière et heureuse d'avoir réussi ! Au moins la France aura gagné quelque chose 😀

For those who wonder what she whispered in my ear between both matches, it was after the Super placed as a punishment vs her Soul Spiral, she simply said : « You have really good reactions!”. Being able to say that during the finals is a remarkable proof of fairplay. 🙂
Then, she takes Ken again and I was happy lol! She's so unexpected ! 🙂 When she chose him, I was sure to win only in the case I managed to deal the game by zoning as much as possible.

And finally victory 2-0 !!!!! Very proud and happy to have succeeded ! At least France would have won something ! 🙂

Et voilaaa j'ai reçu une très belle coupe mais surtout un très très beau golden stick super limited edition lol.
Quant au cash price, vu que beaucoup se posent la question : je dois les contacter, j'avais demandé si y avait du cash price pour le tournoi féminin genre 1mois avant l'evo et on m'avait dit oui. Mais à vrai dire j'en ai pas grand chose à faire de l'argent là, gagner à l'EVO c'est déjà tout simplement énorme !!!

L'ambiance était géniale, les ricains adorent le show. Il y avait sur place 4000spectateurs et bien + lors des finales SSIV.

C'est avec plaisir que j'y retournerais en tout cas…j'espère avoir le niveau requis pour être du top 8 mixte la prochaine fois !!!!! Je vais m'entraîner très dur en tout cas pour ça !
Après le tournoi, rencontre avec Ono le créateur de SF ! Je l'adore ! C'est quelqu'un de très enfantin et m'a félicitée de ma victoire. Il était rigolo avec sa figurine Blanka lol
Je ne savais même pas qu'il était là, forcément je demande photo !!!!

The atmosphere was great, the americans really like shows. There were around 4000 people watching and even a lot more during the SSFIV finals.It would be a pleasure for me to go back there anyway… I hope to have the required level to reach the top 8 of the mixed tournament next time!! In any case I’ll work very hard for that!After the tournament, I met with the maker of SF, Ono! He’s really adorable! He’s very childish and congratulated me for my victory. He was very funny with his Blanka figurine lol
I didn’t even know he was there, so of course I asked for a picture!!!
