I had a really nice trip in Germany. 🙂
Padau and Lars (the main organizers of the tournament) picked me and Lorddvd up at the station when we arrived in Cologne/Koln. And they brought us to an Italian restaurant where Padau

works. J The prices are so cheap ! (6euros for a pizza or pasta)
I could meet some other german players out there, and they are really nice ! All german players I met during the tournament are nice and willing to become stronger. 🙂

When you arrive in Koln, you can't miss it!

After making out of my pool by being ranked 2nd, It was time for final phases.

The final phase matches were played on the stage

For my first match, I had to play with Chillout, a Fei Long player.
I beat him 2-0. I thought he was very patient but he could have been more aggressive.

Then, I had to play Kenzo, a Ken’s player. I already played against him the day before in freeplay and beat him.
In the tournament, I beat him 2-0, by zoning a lot especially. I think my style changes from the german Chun Li like Samson K if he played him, he’s a lot more aggressive than me and we really don’t play the same.

After this match, time for a Mirror Match…against the best german Chun-Li (well in fact he’s American and had to live in Germany for a few years) and surely one of the best Chun I’ve ever seen : Samson K.
I had the occasion to play him at Beat By Contest in Switzerland, and he beat more than I did in casuals, even though a lot of games were very closed. For me it was sure : he’s a lot stronger than me, and I do need to learn from him. His execution and his reaction are just TOO amazing. He never misses the Super whenever he can…..in reaction after hasanshu, MP, HP…when he blocks something punishable by Super, especially a sweep, he never misses. So yeah, you can be like “OH NO!” when he got his super haha. Since you have 95% of chances that he uses it during the round lol.

SamsonK VS LLL Kayane on the stage

I beat him 2-0 but it was close. I think his offensive makes him lose, I’m more patient than him and that was my ONLY advantage I think…
I still think U1 in a mirror match is the best choice, especially for a defensive Chun Li like me who zones a lot.

And then, match against Starnab and his Fei Long. I lost 2-0. I uploaded the video but people was very disappointed and commented about the bad quality because of the lag streaming at this match. So i made it offline. :/
Well, against all Fei Long players I just think to keep distance by zoning with normals, fireballs, stand MK against Chicken wings in reaction…
But here, he just did Rekka all the time I tried to zone so he touches me before. And yeah, I’m in the corner. It’s hell. So I desperately try to make me go out of this bad situation but he doesn’t let me go away of course ! And if I succeed, again a Rekka, again in the corner !!!! Oh nooo…:/
I’m not used to play aggressive Fei players like that, but that’s strong !

And then, i lose to MBR, a Gouki player.
I lost 2-0 and i’m totally desperate about the Chun-Gouki match up. Even if I train it’s just so difficult to fight him. -_-
Like CCL (Belgian Chun player who ranked 4th in the tournament) says all the time about this match up : If he knows the options selects, you’re dead. If he makes you fall, think about the next round and DON’T FALL !” He’s so right lol
And he’s so pissed off this kind of match ups that he’s gonna fall for Yun in AE . XD

Bon ben Chun-Gouki Match up me désespère complètement.
XD

I thank all the organizers of this tournament and all the nice players who participate and that I met. I have a great memory of Germany and I would like to come back when there is another big tournament out there and see you again !! 🙂
