Soul Calibur V UK Launch event !

Namco Bandai and Mad Catz have invited me to come to the Soul Calibur V UK launch event! Look at the official announcement by Namco Bandai !

Want to be on the Stage of History? Namco Bandai Begins the Search for the UK’s Top SoulCalibur V Player

To celebrate the launch of SoulCalibur V next month, Namco Bandai and Gamespot are teaming up to start the search for the UK’s top SoulCalibur Vplayer. Gamers will be given the opportunity attend the SoulCalibur Vlaunch event at The Chapel Bar in Islington from 12-6pm on Saturday 4^tH February where some of the UK’s best fighting game players will be in attendance. There will be a limited free bar and entrance will be permitted on a first come first serve basis for up to 200 people. Selected matches will be streamed online at www.twitch.tv/namcobandaiuk

Madcatz will be showing off their SoulCalibur V Soul Edition arcade sticks and bringing top UK and French players Ryan Hart (Prodigal Son) and Marie-Laure Norindr (Kayane), who will be on hand to give some useful tips and partake in some thrilling exhibition matches.

This event will kickstart a nationwide search to find the best SoulCalibur V players to take part in the UK finals on Friday March 16^th at a so far secret location with a whole host of exciting prizes up for grabs. We will be announcing further details of the registration process soon. The winner of this tournament will go on to take part in the EU finals in London.

It’s been a long time I wanted to announce this to you !
I’m very happy to announce you that I got my first Guinness World Records : first woman to have been ranked in podium placements (top 3) 42 times for fighting games tournaments ! (mostly on Soul Calibur tournaments)
It means that Video games, and especially fighting games are recognized, and that is a wonderful thought.

Ca fait un long moment que je voulais vous annoncer ceci!
Je suis très heureuse d’annoncer que j’ai obtenu mon premier Guinness World Records : La première femme classée en podium (top 3) 42 fois en tournois de jeux de combat (principalement des tournois Soul Calibur) ! Cela signifie que le jeu vidéo, et particulièrement les jeux de combats, sont de mieux en mieux reconnus, et ça fait plaisir !

You will have pictures of me with it soon, and also…I was invited to take official pictures cosplaying Chun-Li in London…;) You’ll have them in January, or if you buy the book ! Cheers to Ryan Hart who got his 3rd award and was with me during the shooting !
The shooting took place in London in July !
I couldn’t talk to you about my Guinness World Records since then, it was a surprise!

They made me cosplay as Chun-Li, my first Chun-Li cosplay !
They bought the costume and brought a make up and hairdresser  artist in my hotel room! She was very nice, also very excited about the shooting !!

Je publierai bientôt des photos de moi avec, et aussi… J’ai été invité pour une session photo officielle à Londres, en Cosplay Chun-Li… J Vous pourrez les voir en Janvier, ou si vous achetez le livre ! Bravo à Ryan Hart qui a obtenu sa troisième récompense et qui était avec moi lors du shooting ! Celui-ci a eu lieu à Londres en juillet ! Je n’avais pas le droit d’en parler depuis, c’était une surprise!

Ils m’ont fait porter une tenue de Chun-Li, mon premier Cosplay en Chun-Li ! Ils ont acheté le costume, et il y avait une artiste maquilleuse et coiffeuse dans ma chambre d’hôtel ! Elle était très gentille et très excitée pour le shooting !

The shooting was very funny ! I was with Ryan Hart who cosplay Ryu ! We called him “Black Ryu!”, but well, the character fits Ryan since he got the title of the most travelled player winning tournaments !! There was a blond guy cosplaying Ken to be with us in the pictures, and he totally fits Ken !

We were in China Town to fit Chun-Li, we went there early so that there weren’t too many people !
So yeah…I had to walk China Town streets as Chun-Li, that was just so funny because of how people looked at me so much !
But the time passed and there were more people on the streets! There were many tourists and children classes who walked around and stayed a long time looking at the shooting and taking pictures !!! I wonder if (most of them)  recognized Street Fighter ! I saw in some smiling faces that they did recognize the game ! So that was even funnier !
Being in the streets cosplaying a character of one of my favourite fighting games and seeing  some random people recognize the game, it’s a nice feeling !
I had to make Chun Li gestures and postures, it was so hard for some of them! But I wasn’t too bad I think ! I did my best :p

C’était très drôle! J’étais avec Ryan Hart déguisé en Ryu! On l’appelait “Black Ryu”, mais bon, le principe du personnage lui va comme un gant car il a obtenu le titre du joueur qui a le plus voyagé en gagnant des tournois !! Il y avait un gars blond en Cosplay Ken qui était avec nous sur les photos, il était très ressemblant!

Nous étions à Chinatown pour être dans le contexte de Chun-Li, très tôt le matin pour qu’il n’y ait pas trop de monde !
Alors oui, J’ai dû marcher dans les rues de Chinatown déguisée en Chun-Li, et c’était trop drôle de voir comment les gens me regardaient!
Mais l’heure a tourné et il y avait de plus en plus de monde! Ils étaient nombreux, des touristes et des classes entières d’enfants passaient par là et regardaient longuement la séance photo !! Je me demande si un grand nombre d’entres eux ont reconnu Street Fighter! J’ai vu certains visages souriants qui reconnaissaient de toute évidence le jeu ! Ca a rendu les choses encore plus drôles!
Etre dans les rues en Cosplay d’un personnage d’un de mes jeux de combat préféré en voyant des gens au hasard reconnaître le jeu, c’est une sensation agréable!
J’ai dû prendre des poses et faire des mouvements typiques de Chun-Li, certains étaient super durs ! Mais je ne m’en suis pas trop mal sortie je pense! J’ai fait de mon mieux :p

I wanted to share my happiness with you, this is a great award for me and my hard training and competition period for 10 years of tournaments. It’s a nice way to celebrate 10 years of fighting games tournaments!
I didn’t realize I would figure on the book when they contacted me to be in it, even when there was the shooting…until I received the official 2012 Guinness World Records book with me in it !
I thank my brothers Kero and Maxi and my old Soul Calibur Team “La Triade” who trained me and made me achieve a “record” without knowing it. I just played, participated in tournaments, trained with my two brothers and my Triade teammates, I would have never imagined to have my name in such a famous book !
Now I have to beat my own record for the next years thanks to my team and sponsor eLive who will make me travel in all over the world for Fighting Games tournaments !

I thank the Guinness World Records for this honor and their kindness !
And thank you everybody to cheer me, It makes me wanna make even more for the Fighting Games community !

Je voulais partager ma joie avec vous, c’est une superbe récompense pour moi, pour mon entraînement intensif après  dix ans de compétition lors de tournois de jeux de combat! Je n’avais pas réalisé que je figurerai dans le livre quand ils m’ont contacté, malgré la séance photo…Jusqu’à ce que je reçoive le livre Guinness World Records officiel avec moi dedans!

Je remercie mes frères Kero et Maxi et mon ancienne équipe Soul Calibur “La Triade” qui m’ont entraînée et m’ont fait battre un « record »  sans même le savoir !
J’ai juste joué, participé à des tournois, me suis entraînée avec mes deux frères et co-équipiers dela Triade, je n’aurais jamais pensé avoir un jour mon nom dans un livre aussi renommé!
Maintenant, je dois battre mon propre record pour les années à venir grâce à mon équipe et sponsor eLive, grâce à qui je voyagerais partout au monde pour des tournois de jeux de combat !
